BAPE Japan’s online retail business has been revived with the launch of a new webstore in New York and a BAPE store in Bay Area, the company said on Friday.
The new store, called LiftMaster, will offer a selection of the popular BAPE japan brand clothing, accessories and accessories, including men’s and women’s, men’s plus size, women’s plus sizes and men’s men’s accessories.
It will open on November 4.
The company said the Bay Area store will offer BAPE accessories and apparel, as well as BAPE underwear.
“The new BAPE site will offer an exclusive online store in New Jersey and Bay Area.
The BAPE team is thrilled to welcome LiftMaster to the BAPE family,” the company announced in a press release.
“LiftMaster is a true BAPE brand that will help BAPE fans around the world enjoy their favorite BAPE items and products, while supporting the business of LiftMaster through our online shop.”
BAPE has struggled to make inroads into the U.S. since it was acquired by JCPenney in 2011.
A year later, the retailer said it had sales of $5.4 billion but was struggling to sell in its U.K. store, where it had just 3,000 members.
BAPE posted sales of just $2.8 billion in 2016.
The online store is expected to have a total of 100,000 items.
“This new Bape site is a real boost to the local community in Bay County, and is sure to attract BAPE loyalists to BAPE USA,” the Bay City Chamber of Commerce said in a statement.
The Bay Area BAPE website will be available starting November 4, BAPE said.
It said it will continue to expand its presence in the Bay area and beyond.
“We are excited to welcome BAPE and LiftMaster together to continue BAPE’s mission to provide a one-stop-shop for all of our fans, both men and women,” JCPENNEY CEO Steve Smith said in the statement.
“In addition to their strong retail presence, BAPY products and services are great for our BAPE apparel customers, and the BAPYA products and service range offers a wide variety of styles for men, women and kids to enjoy.”
BAPy’s online store will also offer exclusive items, such as men’s, womens plus, plus and mini men’s pants, plus, and mini women’s pants.
BAPX was acquired last year by Japan’s JCP Entertainment Group for $2 billion, and it said last week it was opening a new store in Tokyo.
The JCP entertainment group also owns the JCP brand.
“BAPE Japan is excited to be joining forces with JCP Japan and Liftmaster in bringing the Bape store to the Bay,” said Takashi Okada, president and chief operating officer of BAPE Group, in a news release.
The Japanese company has a retail store in the U, and BAPE products will be sold at that store.
Bapx is currently the only Japanese online retailer to offer men’s underwear and a men’s mini women, according to Bape.
