What you really need to do when you’re on the brink of drinking is to not even think about it, and instead simply get drunk.
The ABC’s James Corden was there on Thursday night, and he said he had to “get a bit drunken”.
“I was drinking at a friend’s house in the Sydney CBD and I think about going home and just drinking my last cup of coffee, and then I’m thinking ‘well, I’m gonna go home, I’ve got to get a few beers before I go back and have dinner’,” Corden said.
“And then I think ‘well I’ve just got to go to the bathroom and grab a drink before I come home, because I’ll be so much better off if I go home’.” Here’s what you need: You need a drink.
But you don’t need to have a drink to get drunk – a bottle of wine or even a glass of water can work, but only if you’ve got a strong stomach and don’t want to take a long, hot shower.
Just don’t try and drink it all down before you get home, though.
“You’re just not gonna get drunk,” Corden told the audience.
“That’s the first thing that I always tell people.”
But you need some help.
The best advice Corden had for those on the edge is to get some help, especially if you’re drunk and you’re trying to get sober.
“If you’re drinking, you need a little bit of support,” he said.
“[Then] you just need to make sure that you’re not just thinking about it.
Just go to a friend, talk to them, have a few drinks.”
